Teach Doctors How to Play Football?

footballPhysicians concerned about getting left out in the cold when it comes to stimulus money for EMR implementation may want to take up playing football.

Gov. Bobby Jindal recently signed off on two pieces of legislation: the first creates a loan program for electronic health records, allocating about $5 Million with hopes of obtaining more in federal matching money.

But the sweeter deal was saved for the New Orleans Saints. With guarantees of cash subsidies, rent and stadium improvements, the total package comes out to about $100 Million upfront and over $30 Million per year for the next 15 years.
